The sailing extravaganza witnessed Hallowe’en (1926) win for first time in big boats after nearly perfect race played out among two-metre-high waves. Linnet (1905) in Vintage Gaff, Cippino (1949), in Vintage Marconi, Ardi (1968) in Classics and Calima (1970) in the spirit of tradition, completed honour roll.


The Panerai Copa del Rey is an extremely popular event on the classic yachting calendar in the Mediterranean. The competition counts towards the Mediterranean Circuit, the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge and the Vintage and Classic Yachts Championship of Spain, the regatta organised jointly by Club Marítimo de Mahón and Real Club Náutico de Barcelona which attracts the best yachts from around the world each year.
