The Japan government has awarded Nobuhiro Kosugi of  Seiko  the “Medal with Yellow Ribbon”. The award is given to individuals who, through their diligence and perseverance in their professional activities, have become public role models.

Involved in watch design development for about four decades now, Kosugi has been recipient of three Good Design Award and was in charge of designing Grand Seiko SBGJ005, which won the “Petite Aiguille” prize at the 2014 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève.

Kosugi designs luxury watches which represent the distinctive Japanese sense of beauty. These watches are made together with Seiko’s master craftsmen Satoshi Hiraga, Kiyoshi Terui, and other Japanese craftsmen such as Urushi lacquer and enamel artists. As a recent example, the overall design of FUGAKU Tourbillon Limited Edition including the integration of the tourbillon, metal engraving, and lacquer work, is the work entrusted to Kosugi.
