HUBLOT Loves Art With Lang Lang!
Hublot recently welcomed Brand Ambassador and international piano sensation, Lang Lang to New York City, where the Chinese pianist gave an exclusive private performance at the newly opened Hublot boutique on Fifth Avenue and 57th Street! Guests of Hublot, MasterCard™, and Steinway & Sons™ enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while 13- year-old wunderkind pianist Maxim Lando from the Lang Lang International Music Foundation provided the musical entertainment leading up to a performance by the award-winning Lang Lang.
Dedicated to making classical music accessible to his own generation since age 6, Maxim delighted guests with Medtner Fairy Tales and Variations on a Theme from Carmen. Lang Lang capped the evening with a passionate performance on the Model B Steinway piano. The artist then mingled with customers pointing out his favorite timepieces. Lang Lang shared, “I love the energy of New York, but having the chance to perform, while still on bustling Fifth Avenue, is truly special. My partnership with Hublot has provided me with unique experiences like this around the world, but this is my first in Manhattan.”
The exclusive shopping event benefitted the Lang Lang International Music Foundation, for which Hublot made a donation to the school in support of its strong commitment to educate, inspire and motivate the next generation of classical music performers around the world through sustainable programs. Globally recognized as a leading classical musician and recognized for philanthropic efforts – Lang Lang has been a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF since 2004 and a United Nations Messenger of Peace since 2013. The pianist joined the ranks of Hublot’s internationally prestigious brand ambassadors in January 2015. Through this partnership, Hublot continues its support of and dedication to artists and innovators, as Hublot and Lang Lang master unique complications in the worlds of watchmaking and art.
Present in the world’s most prestigious concert halls and events – including performances at the 56th and 57th GRAMMY Awards and the Opening Ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympics – Lang Lang has brought his musical mastery to Hublot through the brand’s Art of Fusion platform. This collaboration has brought the pianist to such unique and unconventional venues as the Grandes Complications workshops in Hublot’s Nyon factory (outside Geneva), pop-up locations like the Harrods’s coastal store in Porto Cervo (Sardinia, Italy), the White Hotel in St.Tropez, France, or the Quantum of the Seas, the largest cruise ship on the plane.
