Fawaz Gruosi celebrates his 63rd birthday
Over 600 guests came to celebrate 63rd birthday of Fawaz Gruosi, the Geneva-based jeweller-watchmaker and head of de GRISOGONO, on August 8. Known for his over the top jewellery creations, Fawaz chose the Cala di Volpe Hotel as the venue for the celeberation– a place that perfectly symbolises the Porto Cervo spirit.
A place which is a reminder of the origins of this Emerald coast, its fishing villages and their picturesque, romantic accents, a place of sculpted architecture expressed through artistically designed porticos, arches and staircases. A place which inebriates the senses and brings to mind a sensory palette of the eucalyptus, bay leaves and wild juniper so closely bound up with Fawaz’ memories. There is a mere ten-year age gap between Fawaz Gruosi and this place built in 1962. They clearly share a connection that goes far beyond numbers.
A star-studded event graced by the presence of special invited guests and the most stylish people gathered at the venue to wish ‘Happy Birthday’ and celebrate with Fawaz. Simona Ventura, Mara Venier, Valeria Marini, Claudia Galanti, Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy, Victoria Silvstedt, Flavio Briatore and Elisabetta Gregoraci, Countess Marta Marzotto and her niece Margherita Marzotto, the famous photographer Marco Glaviano and Caterina Murino, to name just a few.
A sumptuous firework led the guests to the dinner and the traditional sought-after birthday cake. “While in my opinion, every instant in life is reason to celebrate, there is one day that resonates in my heart and that is the day on which I was born. Since then, and every day, life has given me its most precious gifts – health, love, friendship and happiness. To me, to be surrounded by those I love and of whom I am fond is the best way to thank them and an act of love,” said Gruosi
