‘We’re constantly innovating to improve’
Cartier delivers the kind of magical, awe-inspiring pieces that become fixed in one’s memory for decades says Laurent Goborit Regional MD for Middle East, India & Africa Cartier.
On the new launches
I would like to mention Ballon Bleu de Cartier, a jewellery watch with an extra-thin movement whose face is studded entirely with oscillating diamonds. It’s the simplicity of mounting the diamonds in a way that they oscillate and vibrate in a coordinated way. We have introduced three of Cartier’s most prestigious fine watchmaking compilations. Then there are Rotonde de Cartier Grande Complication Watch with Calibre 9406 MC which boasts a minute repeater, perpetual calendar and a flying tourbillon; the Clé de Cartier, the Cartier Crash ‘Skeleton’ and the Ronde Louis Cartier Filigree which reinvents the centuries-old filigree technique.

On Cartier’s legacy
Being a haute horlogerie house, Cartier delivers the kind of magical, awe-inspiring pieces that become fixed in one’s memory for decades after one sets sights on them. Ours is a constant innovation and search for quality to improve our collections. A culture that is inherent, passed down from the founding fathers, the brothers Cartier.
On the Indian market
We have witnessed tremendous growth in the last 15 years. India is important to us due to our historical links. We have supplied to kings and maharajas. It’s a dynamic country and the market for luxury is very mature.
