AUDEMARS PIGUET Royal Oak Selfwinding
Rs 38, 89,000

A. LANGE & SÖHNE 1815 Chronograph
Rs 21, 00,000
Accurate to the fifth of a second, the 39.5mm pink gold watch is endowed with column-wheel control, a flyback function and a pulsometer scale. The slender chronograph sweep seconds hand is activated with a pusher at 2 o’clock. It indicates the time with a resolution of one-fifth of a second. The flyback function allows instant consecutive measurements: when the pusher at 4 o’clock is pressed, the chronograph’s seconds- and minute-counter hands jump to zero and then immediately restart to take a new measurement. The peripheral pulsometer scale is used for heart rate measurements—the time it takes to count 30 heartbeats. On the scale graduated from 40 to 200 beats, the chronograph sweep seconds hand indicates the heart rate in beats per minute. The symmetrically arranged subsidiary dials for the minute counter at 4 o’clock and the subsidiary seconds dial at 8 o’clock emphasise the balanced character of the timepiece. Two solid-gold push pieces with defined trigger points control the chronograph including the flyback function.

ZENITH Defy El Primero 21
Rs 20, 36,700
The 44mm with oversized chronograph buttons has open-worked dial with two registers and chronograph power reserve is powered by a brand new caliber, the El Primero 21 with COSC chronometer certification. It features two separate escapements, each with a balance spring made of a new patented material, Carbon-Matrix Carbon Nanotube. One escapement is just for the time and the other just for the chronograph, with the first running at 36,000 vph and the latter running at 360,000 vph. This means that when the chronograph is in motion, the seconds hand runs around the dial once per second. The seconds are then counted on the 60-second register at six o’clock and the minutes are counted on the 30-minute register at three o’clock. Due to the amount of energy that it takes to run a chronograph at 360,000 vph, the chronograph function can only run for up to 50 minutes, hence the chronograph power reserve at 12 o’clock.

HUBLOT Classic Fusion Berluti
Rs 9, 41,700
Launched In honour of Berluti’s 120th anniversary this 45mm watch encapsulates the inimitable style of the famous shoemaker in a watch for the first time. This model employed Berluti’s famous Venezia leather for both its strap and its dial. Developed by Olga Berluti, a proud descendent of Alessandro, this exclusive tanning technique needed to be developed into a delicate and complex process before it could be used to craft a watch. For example, all of the moisture had to be removed from the leather before it could be enclosed within the sapphire crystal. Limited to 500 pieces, the model features hand-crafted strap, presented in a Berluti bespoke box containing a complete Berluti leather care set.

GRAHAM Chronofighter Grand Vintage
Rs 4, 46,000
The trigger on the left-hand side of the 47mm cased aviation watch is for easy thumb-activated operation in the cockpit but also facilitates smooth operation of the chronograph on the ground, stationary and at speed. A domed sapphire glass integrates a magnifier for the date at nine o’clock. The case’s large aperture serves to enhance the legibility of the chronograph dial, as well as adding an additional active signature. For good visibility, regardless of weather conditions, the case back comprises a see-through sapphire crystal. Just to be sure that solar power can be put to aesthetic use, a steel satin-brushed bezel and sun-brushed dial with a radial gradient are ready to catch the rays. Watch out for this on the wrists of stylish connoisseurs with a glass of Grand Vintage malt whisky in their hand, or co-piloting sporty free spirits.
