Rotary, the fourth generation Swiss watch brand, has signed a four-year year sponsorship deal as the “Global Official Timekeeper” of Chelsea FC. To kick off their first season, the brand has launched ‘Special Edition’ watches
An award-winning worldwide brand of classic timepieces, Rotary Watches Limited was founded in 1895 by Moise Dreyfuss in the Swiss town of La Chaux de Fonds. Still owned by the Dreyfuss family through Dreyfuss Group Holdings and, with Robert Dreyfuss at the helm, Rotary is the oldest family-owned and run Swiss watchmaker.
The founder, Moise Dreyfuss was dedicated to creating beautiful watches with timeless elegance. His attention to detail and insistence on first class personal service ensured the business grew quickly. Within 12 years of the founding of the company success led to the opening of a UK office.
In 1925 the now famous winged Rotary logo was introduced and after the First World War, under the leadership of Teddy Dreyfuss, the brand developed further, with innovative watches, sophisticated marketing and powerful advertising campaigns. Rotary was appointed as official watch supplier to the British Army in 1940.
In 1950 three tests confirmed the quality and reliability of the Rotary brand as a watch was towed behind the QE2 as it crossed the Atlantic and remained in perfect working order, another was strapped to the Flying Scotsman and arrived intact while the third, dropped from the top of Big Ben survived undamaged.

In honour of the sponsorship, Rotary has proudly developed two Swiss made ‘Special Edition’ individually numbered, quartz, chronograph watches. These commemorative timepieces showcase the Chelsea FC blue lion crest and are equipped with sport-led design features such as; 12hr chronograph, blue outer millisecond track markers, off-set second and date window at 6.
Other unique features include; Chelsea FC embossed case back, blue lion crown and blue outer sapphire glass gasket. With either a black leather strap with blue stitching or a 5 link stainless steel bracelet, both watches are a perfect symbol of sport fusion and innovation, paying tribute to one of London’s most famous football clubs. Each watch is accompanied by a Rotary certificate of authenticity.
