Bentley GMT Light Body B04
Distinguished by its original and daring design featuring asymmetrical lugs, a black rubber strap, a broad bezel with a knurled motif inspired by Bentley radiator grilles, along with pushpieces built into the ergonomically streamlined profile, this travel chronograph is also distinguished by its unprecedented ease of handling. All the wearer needs to do when juggling with timezones is to pull out the crown and turn it forwards or backwards in one-hour increments. This is achieved without any loss of precision in terms of the minutes, while the date is automatically adjusted to local time in either direction. Another appreciable source of comfort on the road stems from the rotating inner bezel bearing the names of 24 cities and enabling at-a-glance readings of all timezones around the world in relation to the one indicated by the 24-hour hand. The dial bearing an open-worked circular pattern reveals glimpses of the automatic B04 chronograph movement, chronometercertified by the COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute).
In the purest tradition of the original model, the round 39mm case, its bezel engraved with the iconic ‘Bvlgari Roma’, combines timeless classicism with an amazing, almost architectural, modernity. The black ceramic crown firmly reinvents the classic shape for the new millennium with cutting-edge technologies, while strengthening the ties between memory and imagination. A sapphire caseback opens up for viewing the beating of the watch’s heart: a mechanical self-winding Manufacture Calibre BVL 131 M with a 72-hour power reserve. Like a family heirloom, the lacquered dial with its subtly hand-applied hourmarkers, interspersed with numerals at 12 and 6, is finely underscored by the Bvlgari signature. Three versions are available: one in 18ct white gold with an intense blue lacquered dial bearing rhodiumed hourmarkers; and the other two in 18ct pink gold adorned with a white or black lacquered dial punctuated by pink gold-plated hourmarkers. Naturally, the limited edition series is set at 130 pieces, but since birthdays and anniversaries are always celebrated with great generosity in Italy, the same number will be produced in each version.
Mille Miglia 2014
The watch is a chronograph featuring a design vividly reflecting the spirit of the legendary race after which it is named: it is also vintage, sophisticated, and distinctively Italian. With its red tachometric scale and hands, white dial and green minute circle, it flies the colours of the nation’s flag. This watch is endowed with a strong character and pays tribute to the oldest cars taking part in the race, those dating from the 1920s and 1930s. That is why the usual strap made in rubber with a 1960s Dunlop racing tyre-tread motif has been replaced by a version in overstitched Barenia calfskin, reminiscent of the bonnet straps on the most venerable participants in the race. The red arrow-shaped Mille Miglia logo appears on the dial as well as on the sapphire crystal case-back. The Mille Miglia 2014 is equipped with a self-winding chronograph movement. Chopard ensures its performances by submitting all its movements to the COSC which guarantee their precision.
