Baume & Mercier
A unique combination of classicism and modernity, the Classima is a celebrated bestseller around the world among business executives for whom distinction is a sign of the discerning mind. Its sophisticated roman numerals deliberately anchor the watch in tradition, making it the symbol of an interior wealth meant to be discreetly shared.
The new version of this collection comes with high-precision self-winding mechanical movements and several functions and complications, including dual time zone, power reserve and sapphire crystal case back to display the oscillating weight. In terms of design, the watch comes with a choice between a 39 or 42 mm size, a ‘grain d’orge’ guilloché décor or a line guilloché décor, and a black or silver dial. Ultimate touches of sophistication: The oscillating weight engraved with Baume & Mercier’s emblematic Phi.
The Vintage 1945 collection is a modern reinterpretation of the spirit of an Art Deco-inspired model with a rectangular case. Girard-Perregaux is once more demonstrating the brand’s creative mastery by unveiling a reimagining of this iconic design. The Vintage 1945 XXL’s generous dimensions give it a strong presence. Just like the original model, its dial features Arabic numerals, ‘railway’ minute track and a subtly concave small second at 6 o’clock. This pleasing symmetry, the guiding principle of Art Deco, gives the design perfect balance, lending it an understated air emphasised by the attention paid to each and every detail. True to the principles of the Manufacture, the Vintage 1945 XXL is also distinguished by its selfwinding mechanism. The calibre GP3300, known for its sophistication and reliability, can be appreciated through the watch’s crystal case-back, and sports traditional decorative finishes: Côtes de Genève,circular graining and blued steel screws.
Bressel Hommage ‘Daniel’
JeanRichard pays homage to Daniel JeanRichard by celebrating the 300-year anniversary of the silver pocket watch produced by the man considered since the 17th century to be the father of Swiss watchmaking. Inspired by this model dating from 1710, the elegance and understatement of the Bressel Hommage ‘Daniel’, has earned it a place among the great watchmaking classics. Its noble lines are beautifully expressed in a 38 mm diameter pink gold case. This houses a white lacquered dial, echoing the enamel used on the pocket watch. Inspired by the ‘Daniel’ pocket watch, the finishes and details on the curved dial offer perfect readability: The Roman numerals are delicately painted in black, the hands in blued steel are tapered in the form of leaves and the date is displayed in red digits in a window at 3 o’clock. The sapphire crystal adorning the case-back reveals the workings of the Manufacture movement: the JR1000. This self-winding mechanism, which offers a power reserve of 48 hours, perfectly illustrates the technical prowess of JeanRichard. The Bressel Hommage is also available with a diamond- set bezel.
The Tonda 1950 reinterprets the very essence of the Parmigiani style: its profile. Slender, finer, it is the perfect showcase for the brand’s iconic signature – the four lugs, round and ergonomic. In rose gold or white gold, the Tonda 1950 is the new, extra-flat classic model featuring the key markers of time – hours, minutes and small seconds. The 12 Parmigiani house calibres will be completed by a component essential for the rigourous and manifold exploration of the facets of time: the extra-flat selfwinding movement. With a diameter of 30 mm (13 ¼ lignes) and a thickness of just 2.6 mm, the new PF 701 movement allows numerous interpretations of the aesthetic. With an autonomy of 42 hours, the movement has an off-centred microoscillating weight in platinum 950.
In both its pure, elegant aesthetic and its exceptionally refined profile, the new Tonda 1950 meets the highest standards in terms of comfort and readability: a return to the basics which define a true classic.
